The impetus for this drawing is an interest in creating an imaginary Guggenheim Museum of New York by delving into the museum's original drawings. The process of re-drawing the distinctive geometric forms gives rise to possible architectural elements and spatial interventions: extended exhibition ramps, mechanical arms operating exhibition pods, green roofs, sundecks, and rooftop ponds. These generate new forms, space, and materialities in the transforming process of the existing museum. The methods of combining analog and digital drawing techniques, including tracing original floor plan drawings, overlaying watercolor rendering, and collaging images of digital modeling, provide extensive ideas for creating new spatial configurations and architectural details for the futuristic imaginary museum.
