The primary goal of this project is to create a comfortable rest space with a small yet functional meeting room. While looking for ways to express brand identity in the relatively small space, the new dividing wall between the rest space and the meeting room is constructed with a series of CNC-cut vertical wood slats. The slats form a concave space that follows the distinctive shape of the iconic brand of chocolate, Hershey's Kisses, integrating the brand's identity into the design and creating a functional and unique space.
The concave space of the wall also functions as a television stand, while the rest becomes space for adjustable shelves. The material choice for the project, birch plywood, brings a sense of warmth with bright color to the office space, creating a comfortable environment. Also, ceiling, wall, and floor transition details intend to provide a cohesive design: vertical wall members and horizontal ceiling members interlock, and wood floor seams align with the center lines of the vertical wall members.
